Hot Water Beach, Coromandel

After waking early to capture the sunrise at Hot Water Beach, I saw that a storm was brewing. I wanted to capture the movement of the clouds in the distance and the waves rolling into the beach, overlapping each other as they washed over the sand. As I saw this wave break on either side, I quickly released the shutter to capture the symmetry. I was taken by the contrast in colour and texture between the stormy sky, turquoise and white waves, and the pinkish sand.
